Happy Lughnasadh! Lughnasadh (or Lammas in the Wiccan tradition) is the first of two harvest festivals, the other being the Autumn Equinox on September 23rd. It is also one of the four cross-quarter days, or the fire festivals of Imbolc, Beltaine, Lughnasadh, and Samhain. Read here for more on Lughnasadh culture and history.
The fresh and still-hidden New Moon skips along through sunny Leo. She begins the day on an optimistic trine to expansive Jupiter in Sagittarius, priming us for a day of fun and adventure, NOT work. Those of you on vacation, have a grand time!
Alas, many of us must go to a job today instead of on a road trip. If that’s you, at the very least get outside for a small lunchtime exploration - perhaps to a new eatery you’ve never tried before. Or take a good epic novel out into the sunshine and lose yourself in it for a while.
Late in the afternoon the Moon joins forces with Mars to insist that we Leave That Desk! Now you really must get out for some kind of physical activity or you’re likely to blow up at some hapless co-worker. Go out for a (preferably solo) bike ride, run, or a long, vigorous walk.
The Moon goes void-of-course on her meet-up with Mars at 4:48 PM EDT, drifting unaspected until she enters Virgo tomorrow at 9:20 AM EDT.
